Underoath announced a North‑American tour that will play its 2006 album Define the Great Line in full for the 20th anniversary. The tour starts on November 5 in St. Louis and ends on December 18 in Tampa, with a headline show at Brooklyn Paramount on December 8. Tickets go on sale June 12 at 10 a.m. local time, with presales beginning June 9 at noon.

The band’s 2006 release is widely cited as a turning point for melodic metalcore. Produced by Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage, Matt Goldman, and the band, the album was recorded at Zing Recording Studios in Massachusetts and Glow in the Dark Studios in Georgia. It was issued by Tooth & Nail Records and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the highest chart position for a Christian‑market release since 1997. The Recording Industry Association of America certified the album gold in 2006. Singles from the record include “Writing on the Walls,” “In Regards to Myself,” and “You’re Ever So Inviting.” The video for “Writing on the Walls” earned a nomination for Best Short‑Form Music Video at the 2007 Grammy Awards.

Underoath’s lineup has changed over the years. Lead vocalist Spencer Chamberlain replaced Dallas Taylor in 2003, and the band has released several albums since, including Erase Me (2018), Voyeurist (2022), and The Place After This One (2025). The group disbanded in 2013 and reunited in 2015, returning to touring and new material.

The 20‑year tour will feature a rotating lineup of opening acts. August Burns Red, Atreyu, As Cities Burn, and Emery will perform on various dates, with the Brooklyn Paramount show on December 8 including August Burns Red, Atreyu, and Emery. The tour also includes a performance at Furnace Fest 2026, where Underoath played the album in full.

Chris Dudley, the band’s keyboardist, said the album “has meant to us, and so many others, over the past 20 years is hard to quantify.” He added that the album “gave us permission to be ourselves” and that the band still feels the same energy when performing it today.

The tour schedule covers the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with stops in major cities such as Chicago, Seattle, Vancouver, and Boston. Several dates remain to be announced, and the tour will include festival appearances, including a slot at the 2026 Furnace Fest in Birmingham, Alabama.

Tickets for the tour are available through Ticketmaster and other authorized sellers. Fans can expect a full‑album setlist that will include the album’s nine tracks, performed in the order they appear on the original release.

The 20‑year celebration underscores the lasting influence of Define the Great Line on the metalcore and post‑hardcore scenes. The album’s blend of aggressive riffs, melodic choruses, and introspective lyrics set a standard that many contemporary bands continue to reference. The tour’s announcement comes after the band’s recent performance of the album in its entirety at Furnace Fest, a milestone that reaffirmed the record’s relevance two decades after its release.

Underoath’s 2026 tour is the first full‑album anniversary run since the band’s 2015 reunion, and it marks the longest continuous touring period the group has undertaken since the early 2000s. The tour’s schedule, opening acts, and ticketing details are currently being finalized, with additional dates and venues expected to be added in the coming weeks.

The tour will run through December, concluding with a final show in Tampa on December 18. The band’s performance of Define the Great Line will be accompanied by a curated selection of opening acts, offering fans a comprehensive look at the album’s legacy and the band’s evolution over the past two decades.
