Reb Fountain Unveils Water for Gasoline Album, Beautiful Lie Video, and Launches Nationwide Tour
On 14 August 2026, Reb Fountain released her sixth studio album, Water for Gasoline, through Fountain Records. The ten‑track collection was written and recorded in the artist’s garage studio earlier that year, with most songs captured live in a single take.
A month later, Fountain premiered a music video for the album’s lead single, “Beautiful Lie.” The clip was directed and shot by her daughter, Lola Fountain‑Best, on Super 8 film. It shows the singer in a vintage wedding gown standing amid the cows of Matiu Kauri Grove, a production that received support from NZ On Air, the Crown‑funded broadcasting commission that finances independent creative projects.
The same day the video debuted, Fountain announced the Water for Gasoline Aotearoa tour. It will run from 1 October in Hamilton to 24 October in Wellington, featuring her core band. Young Moon will join for the first eight dates, and guitarist Mads Harrop will appear on the final two shows. Stops include Last Place in Hamilton, Totara St in Mount Maunganui, Dome Cinema in Gisborne, Paisley Stage in Napier, The Loons in Christchurch, Pearl Diver in Dunedin, Yonder in Queenstown, Powerstation in Auckland, and Meow Nui in Wellington.
