2026 Global Festival Calendar Highlights Major Lineups Across Chicago, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Budapest, Gothenburg, the UK, and Paris
Lollapalooza, the world’s largest music festival, will set the tone in Chicago’s Grant Park from July 30 to August 2. The event, which began as a touring festival in 1991 and settled in Chicago in 2005, will feature more than 170 acts across eight stages. Headliners include British pop icon Charli XCX, New Zealand singer‑songwriter Lorde, UK indie‑rock group the xx, and Olivia Dean, whose recent duet with Sam Fender topped the UK charts. The Smashing Pumpkins, the 1990s alternative‑rock stalwart, also return to the lineup.
Across the North Sea, Amsterdam’s Dekmantel festival will play from July 29 to August 2, spotlighting electronic dance music. Over 160 producers and DJs will perform on multiple stages, with a daytime event, Dekmantel at Dawn, running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 2026 bill features British high‑tempo artist Sherelle, US DJ‑producer Skrillex, Detroit collective Underground Resistance, Chilean‑German producer Ricardo Villalobos, and Berlin‑based DJ/producer CCL.
San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will host Outside Lands from August 7 to 9, a three‑day festival billed as a “love letter” to the city. Art installations, food trucks, and a sustainability focus accompany a roster that includes The Strokes, Charli XCX, the xx, US singer‑songwriter Ethel Cain, Australian EDM trio Rüfüs Du Sol, indie‑pop band Death Cab for Cutie, and Brooklyn art‑rock group Geese. Additional acts feature Turnstile, Baby Keem, Modest Mouse, Wet Leg, and Disco Lines.
Budapest’s Sziget Festival will occupy the 108‑hectare island of Óbudai‑sziget from August 11 to 15. Known for more than 1,000 performances each year, the 2026 lineup leans into UK acts such as Bring Me The Horizon, Florence + The Machine, Jorja Smith, Lewis Capaldi, Biffy Clyro, and Skepta. American performers include Skrillex, Twenty One Pilots, and Sombr, while other spots are filled by Zara Larsson, Ashnikko, Chet Faker, and Peggy Gou.

The UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals, running from August 27 to 30, will attract the largest festival audience in England now that Glastonbury is on hiatus. The lineups in both cities are largely identical, showcasing Charli XCX, Chase & Status, Florence + The Machine, Dave, and Raye. Other performers are Skepta, Geese, Kneecap, Kasabian, and Blossoms.
Finally, Paris’s Rock en Seine will take place from August 26 to 30 in Saint‑Cloud’s historic park west of the city. Emphasizing guitar‑driven acts, the festival’s headliners are Tyler, The Creator, Lorde, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Deftones, and The Cure. Additional acts include Interpol, Wolf Alice, Turnstile, The Black Keys, Wet Leg, Kompromat, Sombr, Wilco, and Sparks.
Across these events, the 2026 festival season showcases a broad spectrum of contemporary music. Artists from pop, indie, electronic, and rock genres headline shows that attract large audiences and reflect the continued growth of live music culture. The lineups also illustrate the global reach of festivals, with performers from the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Chile, Germany, and other regions. As the season approaches, ticket sales remain strong, and organizers continue to emphasize sustainability, cultural programming, and diverse musical representation.
